To the Friends of the Reformation Society

Dear Friends

Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

We sincerely apologise for accidentally sending last week's Reformation Society letter a second time.

This is the Reformation society letter for this week which includes a powerful message about the reality of the persecuted church:

From the Frontline: Mobilise Prayer and Action for the Persecuted
Please tune in to the latest From the Frontline podcast on www.FrontlineMissionSA.org. It will be available
here.
Over 400 million Christians live in the 66 countries of the world which severely restrict, or persecute, believers. Every year, an average of 200,000 Christians die as martyrs for Christ. Christian brothers and sisters are being persecuted for the Faith. How can we effectively serve the persecuted ? "Remember the prisoners as if chained with them - those who are mistreated - since you yourselves are in the body also." Hebrews 13:3

Reformation Society: How the Reformation Transformed Love, Courtship and Marriage
Martin Luther saw marriage as an institution in as much crisis as the church - and no less in need of reform. Luther described marriage as the only institution where a chaste life could be maintained. He insisted that "one cannot be unmarried without sin." "Marriage pervades the whole of nature". Luther taught that nothing was more natural and necessary than marriage, "for all creatures are divided into male and female." "Love begins when we wish to serve others." “There is no better school for humility and for loving sacrificial service than marriage and parenthood...”

Reformation Art and Essay Competition 2021
Every year, those involved in Home Education are invited to participate in the Reformation Art and Essay Competition. This year the focus is on Protestant Reformer Martin Luther, who, 500 years ago, made his bold stand before the assembled political and ecclesiastical might of Europe. Professor Luther refused to bow to peer pressure, intimidation and political threats. On 18 April 1521, he made his historic speech: “Unless I am convinced by Scripture, or by clear reasoning, that I am in error – for popes and councils have often erred and contradicted themselves – I cannot recant, for I am subject to the Scriptures I have quoted; my conscience is captive to the Word of God. It is unsafe and dangerous to do anything against one’s conscience. Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise, so help me God. Amen.” This courageous stand on principle is even more relevant in this day of lockdown lunacy, Covid Cult masquerade madness, salvation by vaccination pandemic panic propaganda paranoia, with many churches sidelined, silenced or shut down. Political, media and peer pressure to conform and bow before temper tantrum tactics to violate our conscience and repeat rhetorical mantras to appease bullies must be resisted. The Reformation message has seldom been more relevant and needed than now.
