Dear Friends
Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Thank your for your prayers during my recent ministry trip throughout the USA. It was a most blessed and productive time of ministry despite serious complications and intense spiritual warfare. The hectic lead up to this speaking tour included tons of Christian books to be offloaded and sorted through at the mission, a new field vehicle being acquired, negotiations over a new property for Livingstone Fellowship, and numerous books to be finalised for printing.
Our faithful bookkeeper for 13 years, Phyllis Laing, went to be with the Lord and several members of our staff were afflicted with illnesses and injuries. The day before my departure I was informed that the British Embassy’s computers had crashed and that my passport renewal would not be able to be completed in time! In the end I had to pack in faith and board the flight to Johannesburg without my passport. By God’s Grace, this was handed to me as I exited domestic arrivals before having to re-check in for the flight to the USA.
The ministry in the USA included preaching at Dr. RC Sproul’s St. Andrews Chapel, being interviewed on Way of the Master Radio and TV, Summit Ministries, filming in Los Angeles for a new TV production on Biblical Christianity in a Postmodern Society, recordings with Eric Homberg for a follow up on his successful Amazing Grace – The History and Theology of Calvinism DVD, and numerous other very blessed services and missions rallies in Arizona, California, Florida, Colorado, Tennessee and Georgia.
Please join us for these upcoming Reformation Society events:
Changing the Course of History through Prayer and The Battle for Africa – Sudan, the Congo and Nigeria at 7h30pm Thursday 11 June.
The Myth of Neutrality at 7h30pm Thursday 18 June.
Celebrating 500 Years of the Faith and Legacy of John Calvin at 7h30pm Thursday 25 June.
Every Tuesday night at 8h30pm on Radio Tygerberg, I will be dealing with contemporary and Reformation issues on our Salt and Light Radio Programme – 104FM. On Tuesday, 21 June, we will particularly focus on The Message and Ministry of Reformer John Calvin.
As Lenora and I will be fully engaged in our mission to Europe, 26 June through 23 July, the Reformation Society and Livingstone Fellowship services will be in recess during that time.
So the upcoming Livingstone Fellowship services will be the next two Sundays: 14 and 21 June. After our Europe mission we will recommence with Reformation Society Thursday meetings, 23 July and Livingstone Fellowship services on 26 July.
If you are interested in viewing the Church property, which Livingstone Fellowship and The Reformation Society are seeking to obtain, please join us this Thursday afternoon 4h30pm and we will drive from here to the site, which is very close by, also on Rondebosch Common.
This will be followed by a Reformation Society and a Livingstone Fellowship committee meeting to particularly discuss the Church property.
Do be sure to visit our www.reformationSA.org and www.livingstonefellowship.co.za websites. These are continually updated.
Please also pray for three of our mission teams, which are heading out across the border.
Yours for Reformation and Revival
Dr. Peter Hammond
